Hi all!
A week ago, Jasem has been admitted at Chang Gung Pedia for his 10th chemo. Yeah, July 27th wasn't for his CT scan... I guessed it wrong. Carbo and Doxo were infused for the 5th time which started 11 am of July 28th (friday) and ended at 6pm of July 30th (sunday). We were not sent home early as expected because of Jasem's fever and cough. Actually, until now, he still coughs and his temperature seems a little high but not reaching 38.3C. I have acetaminophen in the room in case he'll have fever. We brought him to the clinic near us to get meds for his cough because the medication that was given to us at the hospital ain't making his cough any good. The dr and nurses were driving me crazy, cos I kept telling them that the drug that they prescribed for Jasem's cough ain't making him feel any better. They increased the dosage but it remained useless, and worse is, poor boy got a cold and I started coughing too. I asked Dr. Hung to send us home yesterday (Aug 3rd) because I think "home" is the best place to make Jasem (and me of course) feel better. Exhausted, I stayed in bed since the moment we're back until 10:30 this morning. I was dead tired after 8 days of stay in the hospital. During those days, Jasem was wearisome, he puts his blue face every day, and I have no choice but to bear with my ill-temper boy. We were so bored that I learned how to form balloons into animal shapes in minutes just to entertain us both. It was fun. It's like I returned to my childhood days.... that's how crazy I became there, lol.
10 chemo sessions since diagnosis and I'm really praying hard that it'll be over soon. August 10th is our next appointment with Dr. Hung and she mentioned that they'll be scanning Jasem that day, unless something goes wrong again (like fever or low blood counts which happens few days after Doxo and Carbo had been infused). I'm hoping that they can safely resect Jasem's liver now cos both of us (me and Jasem) are growing weary.
By the way, Jasem's latest afp is good. It's 3.4 as of July 27th. It's good that it continues to stay normal bcos at least we don't need to be concerned on something more.
Thanks for the time you take out of your day to remember us. You will be blessed beyond measure. You are all in our prayers and continued thanks. I promise to keep you posted.
