Four long months had passed since diagnosis. It was a tough period of time with lots of ups and downs not only for Jasem but for us his family. We're so happy that this li'l boy of ours has responded pretty well on all of his chemo sessions. With his afp dropping from 400,000+ (during diagnosis) to 160 (latest), there's a lot to thank our Big Boss up there and all our family and peers who continues to pray for our boy. He's more like his old self now. Actually, he's not just the hyper kid here in our home... he's also the high-spirited tot at the 6th floor of Chang Gung pedriatics. All the nurses know him so well that everytime we arrive there they'll utter "The hyper boy's back again!". He's different from other patients who'd rather stay in their bed and watch TV in their room. Jasem never agreed to stay inside the room. He enjoys walking around the nurse counter and playing his small cars on the benches in the waiting area. Although it causes my muscles to sore by the end of the day and other parents feel pity seeing me walking all day, I prefer seeing my child full of energy rather than watching him lay in bed all day.
After this 6th chemo session (Carbo/Doxo, Apr 11-13), our oncologist still haven't discuss to us what's the next thing to do. Resection or transplant? Dr. Hung wanted to schedule another CT scan and add another round of chemotherapy. Dr. Hung's team is the best
hema/onco team here in Taiwan yet, as a parent, there are things that are still causing me concern.
Btw, his next chemo is on April 27th.
Thats about it for now. I'll keep everyone posted when there are more news. Thank you for your continued prayers.
